Te Aroha races on Saturday. Tlie meeting this year will be held in Mr J. Wood's paddock, Te Aroha West. On Thursday last Mr D. Crate, tailor, of Te Aroha, was m.-irried at Cambridge to Mi^s McFarlane. The young couple drove tn their home at Te Aroha the same night. We wish them every happiness. A meeting of the Waikato Arclndiaconal Conference will be held at Te Aroha Thursday next, commencing at 7 p.m. The following subjects will be discussed : " How beßt to promote the unity of Christians of all denominations," " The more effective publication of intended marriages," and '• The Lord's Day, the Chribtiiin'B Sabbath." The Te Aroha race privileges were sold by auction on Saturday last by Mr Jas. Craig, and realibed the following pricefl . Publicans Booth, £10 10s, A. Gabolinscy; Refreshment Booth, £3, A. At the meeting of the Board o± Education held on Friday, Mr Luke's motion to rescind the resolution passed some time ago, "That teachers who fail once or oftener to pass the examination in class B be dismissed," was discussed and rejected by 4 votes to 2, and an amendment as follows by Mr Goldie was agreed to : — "That the Secretary obtain from unsuccessful teaehergthe particulars of their failures, such particulars to be considered by the Boaid in Committee." We are informed that arrangements are novv being made to hold a Blue Ribbon meeting at Quartssville. Several friends fiom Waiorongotnai have promised to take part. \ »ood programme is being prepared by MesM'H Lovoll, J.
