The Pope and the Irish Prelates.
Tire Rome corve«spondenfc of the '"'Freeman's Journal " telegraphs that ho is authorised to state that tho Pope has written a letter couched in the most affectionate terms to each of the Irish aichbishops and bishops, and has communicated to the Irish prelates the gracious message that rich presents have been sent by His Holiness to every Irish cathedral church. These Papal presents have been .specially bloescd by Pupa Leo himself for Ireland, and the Pope has also invoked a particular benediction on the Irish people. He is sure that, coming so quick upon the malicious ennanh that were circulated concorning Ii eland and the liish people at the Vatican, this intelligence will be received with general satisfaction. Amongst the liissh and American communities in Rome and their friends it is the subject of lejoicing, especially as it comes so quick after the gitts to the Irish College.
