FOR BUSH WARFARE. ARMING OPOTIKI SETTLERS. Opotiki, Feb. 28.

Fifty stand of arms which were brough down by the Chelmsford from Auckland are now being issued to an enrolled body of Opotiki settlers. These men are many of them old campaigners, and all of them are intimately acquainted with the country through which Te Kooti is travelling. _ The enrolment of this force has been decided upon in consequence of the determination arrived at by the Government to follow up To Kooti and prevent him by any possibility marching in the direction of Poverty Bay.
