MASONIC GRAND LODGE.
Invu/rcargill, Feb. 23. Tiie movement in favour of a Masonic Grand Lodge oi New Zealand uniting the three constitutions has extended to South land. A meeting of past masters was held last nierht and was largely attended, when it was decided to hold a meeting of Masons a fortnight hence, with the view of the formation of a local branch of the Masonic Union, The proposal to start is a prelimin ary to effecting the union of all lodges in the colony under one jurisdiction. It is understood that Southland Masons are all but unanimously in favour of union. There are 6evcn lodges in Southland proper, and two more in the Lakes district, making nine in all.
