THAMES, [From our own Correspondent.] Thames, Friday.

The usual sitting of the Wavtlen's Court was helil yesterday before H. W. Northcroft, Esq., Warden, when the following applications were granted :-— Wra. Fraser, Hidden Treasure special claim, Thames foreshore ; Robert Mulgrew, permission to cut timber at Hikutaia ; Chas, E. Bull, agricultural lease ; Noah Coward, residence site, Karangahake ; G. W. Bull, exchange of title ; E M. Corbett, permission to cut timber ; Eliza Harvey, residence site, Waihi ; C. F. Mitchell, do., Waihi. Protection was granted as follows : — G. P. Quayle, water-race and machine site, Quayle and Sydney licensed holdings, Marototo, for four months ; E. Clements, Imperial, Karangahake, to work with two men for four months. Plaints lodged by Mr G. Wilson, Mining Inspector, against several owners of licensed holdings, for non-working and , non-payment of rent, were dealt with. Amongst them were the following :— J. McCombie, Riverina, Karangahake, adjourned to 28th March ; Chas. Me Williams, Young Colonial, Whangamata, adjourned 7th March ; W. G. Scott, Silver Prinoe, Marototo, forfeited ; N. Dickey, residence site, cancelled for non-payment of four years' rent (£4) ; James Pocock, residence site, Waitekauri, adjourned 21st March ; J. H. Walsh, business site, Karangahake, ad- \ joured 7th March ; J. W. Nicholls and others, Mammoth, Karangahake, forfeited ; E. Simpson, Martini-Henry, Marototo, forfeited. The Clydelicensed holding, Moanatairi creek, which consists of about two and a half acres, and was recently forfeited for non-working, was sold,! at the Warden's Court yesterday for £50. Mr W. 11. Potts was the purchaser. Thames, Monday. At the last sitting of the R.M. Court a case of considerable local interest was heard, being that of the Thames Hospital Trustees v, Patrick Trainor, the wellknown contractor, a claim for £2 l^s 3d ; for the .maintenance and treatment of defendant while in the Hospital suffering from the effects of a blasting accident. Defendant paid ,£1 18s or equivalent to 14s per week, into (Jourt, but the Trustees contended that he was well able to pay £1 per week. His Worship gave judgment for the amount in- dispute, 16s 3d, with costs £1 7s\ This is the first case that has come before (he Court here under the present Hospi'al and Charitable Institutions
