TE KOOTI'S ROUTE. WHAT HE WILL DO.
The Native Minister, the Hon. MrMitchelson, received a telegraphic despatch from Mr R. S. Bush, KM. at Opotiki.this morning, with reference to Te Kooti's movements. Mr Bush had a lone talk with Wi Pere, the leading chief of the East Coast, who informed him that Te Kooti will not even go across the river to Ormond, but will stay at Karaka. If there is not too much excitement he may go to awhare erected near Ormond, when he would probably go by himself. If, however, there is no excitement he may take his companions with him. This whare is the one first erected, the one at Karaka being a recent building. In case he goes to the first whare he will not stay more than one day in it. When he leaves Omarumutu he will probably sleep at Motu Bridge, and on the second day repose at Fontutu after his journey so as to be within two hours' ride of Karaka. He I will thus be enabled to reach Karaka early in the morning. Wi Pere says that Te i Kooti is not likely to go nearer to Gisborne than this.
