New:-) has been ltceived of the prevalence of a severe famine in Southern Russia. This crisis has been brought about by the severity oi the season and scarcity of ciops. The difficulty experienced by the inhabitants in obtaining food has led to numeious harrowiug scenes, and many childi en have already succumbed through lack of sustenance.
