SHOCKING FATAL ACCIDENT.
A shocking accident lias occurred at Upper Belmont, Hutt District. A boy of ten, son of John Stniter, was in the house alone with his sister Maud, aged nine. He got his father's riflo from the bedroom and a cartridge from the shelf, loaded the rifle, and accidentlv touched the trigger, blowing the top of his sister's head off, her brains being scattered about. The girl fell clown dead, and the boy ran out to tell his lather, who was at work in the field.
