THE N.S.W. ELECTIONS. FREE TRADE MAJORITY. Sydney, February 16.
The last of the elections took place today, and leaves the free trade party in a majority of five. The numbers are :—: — Free trade ..' . 71 Protectionists ... . . ... 66 In the last Parliament the state of parties was :—: — Pree trade supporters. . ... 80 Protection 44 Thus the latter have received a considerable number of additional adherents. Of the thirteen new seats eight returned those in favour of protection.
