' Bring me a rocking horse, papa,' he replied, 'and a popgun, and a train of carriages, and a bank and— a,nd anything else you can lay your hands on.' ' ' Now, George, you must divide the cake honourably with your brother Charlie.' ' What is ' honourably,' mother ?' ( It means that you must give him the largest piece.' 'Then, mother, I'd rather that Charlie should be honourable.' It was at a tea party that a child attracted considerable attention by saying repeatedly ' I want a cake.' 'You have five or six already,' said the mother. ' Them's nob the ones I want. I want a fresh one.' A little four-year-old was much impressed with her first out-of-doors in the starlight. On her arrival home bhe skipped joyfully up to her mother with the glad tidings, • Oh, mamma, I've seen the moon and all
her little children.' • What do you expect to make of your son when he comes of age, Mr Smith ?' 1 Oh, I don't know,' replied Mr Smith, despondently, ' I think he'd make a good husband fora rich girl.'
