CRISIS IN FRANCE. SCENES IN THE CHAMBER OF DEPUTIES. Paris, February 1.
M. Floquet moved a resolution in the Chamber of Deputies yesterday to rei tore in itiomirial voting' He said the Government were unable to repress intriguers against the Republic without increased powers, and disclaimed any intention of attacking universal suffrage. Uproarious scenes subsequently occurred in the Chamber, and some of the speakers demanded the complete smashing of Boulangerism. M. Luguerre, in the absence of Boulanger, taunted the Government with being afraid of the verdict of Paris. They were, he declared, on the eve of events which would have the effect of changing existing institutions. M. Clemenceau said the verdict of last Sunday virtually defeated the Government, and the Eepublican ' party would find it difficult to recover its influence.
