MINING NEWS. Coromandel, Feb. 4.
Tokatba. — Tho leader in operation by Wm, Dvinkin and party on the surface portion of No. 1 block is very small, being only half-an-inch in thickness, but carries payablo gold. They have 71bs of good specimen stone on hand, besides some good general quartz. No. 5 block : Dick and Cowan are making great headway with their low level. The ground during- the past fortnight has been really good, and if it lasts another week the drive will intersect their goldbearing leader. No other leador of importance has been discovered at this level. No. 8 block : Steole and Dyer are getting one ton ot poor stone treated this week. They expect 6oz or Boz. — Jno. Extraordinary excitement is being caused throughout Donegal by what are declared to be miraculous cures effected by a Roman Catholic priest named Larkin, lately arrived from Surrey, England. Cripples carried many miles are said to have been enabled to walk without assistance.
