NEW SOUTH WALES ELECTIONS. Sydney, February 3.

Considerable excitement is being occasioned over the general elections, which commenced on Friday last. In the city electorates, for the most part free traders have been successful Mr T. R. Dibbs (Premier and Colonial Secretary), Mr F. Abigail (Minister of Mines in the late Government), and Mr McMillan (who moved the amendment which ousted the last Govern ment) have been returned. Mr F. Suttee (Minister of Education in the new Ministry) has been defeated. Up to yesterday, 37 free traders had been returned and 30 protectionists.
