The potato market is excited, and there js a short supply ; the quotation is now £16, but it may be £20 to-morrow, and it must decline shortly. Onions, #14 to £15. New Zealand chaff, £6 to £6 ss. Butter is a shade firmer: Local, 7d to lOd ; dairy. Is ; factory made. New Zealand, 6d to 9d nominal. Cheese, local, 4d to 6ft; New Zealand, 6d to 7\d. Bacon is firm at 9d to lOd, and hams are quiet at Is. Melbourne, January 31. Wheat is in demand: Feed, 4s 6Jd. Flour i s quiet: Stone -made, £10; roller-made, £11' Oats: Calcutta, 3s 3d ; Tartarian, 3s 7d, Barley : Cape, 3s 6 id. Bran, Is. Adelaide, January 31. In wheat little business is doing. Farmers' lo ts, Port Adelaide, 4s 6d ; for outports, 4s 4d to 4s sd. Flour: Stone-inadc, £10 10s ; roller-made £11 10s. Bran, lid ; pollard. l!Jd ; oats, seed, 4s 9d ; barley, malting 1 , 5s 6d.
