Waitoa Road Board.

Thk. usual, monthly * meeting of" the Waitoa Koad Board took place last SaVnrday in the Nottingham Castle Hotel, Morrinsrille. Present—Messrs H. Buruett, J.Horrell, and J._Turnbull. The Chairman being absent Mr, Horreli was voted to the Chair. Among the outward correspondence was copy of a letter to Mr Jas. Taylor/ re gates on roads ; copy of a letter to Mr D. Anderson, re pigs, rooting on road; copy of a letter to Mr T. Kowe, re pigs rooting on road. Among- the inward correspondence was a memorandum from the Property Tax Commissioners, re alterations requiring to be raade, in the Roll "'as regards lands rateable to the Crown. A circular from the- Public/ Works Office, reporting that the Public Works. Department had been abolished, ana 1 that In future all communications ,tb the Government with reference to road works etc., must be made to the Hon the Minister of Lands. A -letter ,-irom the. Secretary to the Treasury, re, the payment of £50 2s 3d, being the second half year's interest on the Board's inscribed debt at ■, the Treasury, under "The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886.^' A letter from Mr #. B. B. Willis., .re repairs required' to road between tha properties of Messrs E, B. Chudleigh jind J. B. Smith. A letter frdm Mr H. F. Cox, re road works required at Waiharaktki. It wa£ decided to g«t the road ' repaired where referred to by lilr Willis, an-i the Engineer was instructed ta, inspect and report on the, work to which Mr Cox 'had directed the Board's attention. The Engineer was also instructed to inspect and report on -the works propose 1 to be done on tha Pinko-Cambridge toa 1 by the expenditure oi the rates derivable from Native Lands for tha current year, amounting to £69 18s 7d. The following accounts were passed for i^iyment : — Public Account, £50 2s "3U ; A. Breiuner, £2 8s 6>l ; P. Bolton, ,£J4 ; A. Bremner, £8 8s ; C. Murphy, ,$l6 ss; O; McCabe, £6; F. Pavjit,^2 ; J.
