THE WESLEYAN CONFERENCE. (BY TELEGRAPH. -PRESS ASSOCIATION.} Dunedin, January 26.

At the afternoon sitting of the Wesleyan Conference the reports of examinations and sermons of the probationers were discussed with the result that the Revs. T. J. Wallis and A. C. Lawry were admitted into full connection, Mr Wallis to ordination on Monday next, and that arrangements be made for Mr Lawry 's ordination as soon as possible. The Rev. J. S. Smalley (at present visiting in Ireland) preferred a request that he be continued tor one year as a supernumerary of the New Zealand Conference. After considerable discussion, it was resolved that if satisfactory medical evidence can be shown, Mr Smalley be allowed to remain supernumerary for another year in England, failing which, he be allowed to take a year's rest, bub without receiving; remuneration. Cablegrams were received from "New South Wales and South Australia re intercolonial exchange, as follows :— From New South Wales: "In view of the strong feeling and exfcr_eme difficulty in effecting intercolonial exchanges with your Conference, we join In requesting President Symons to suspend action until next General Conference." From South Australia: "This Conference decline responsibility to interfere with action of General Conference interchanges.' It was agreed that Pesident Symons be asked to suspend action till next Conference. The Rev. Hauraki Paul (native) was received into full connexion. Messrs Blight, Joughnin, Law, Burrows, and Fellows were each passed as probationers in their respective years. Mr J. Chapman was received as a probationer. Dunedin, January 20. At the Wesleyan Conference this morning* a telegram was received from Palmerston. North stating that the Rev. W. Trasley is dangerously "ill. A telegram of sympathy was ordered to be sent. A cablegram was received from the Rev. Symonds, President of the General Conference, saying he had not power to suspend' all action of the General Conference in the ' matter of inter-colonial exchange ,as requested by this Conference. A cablegram was also received from the Victorian Conference saying they declined to join the New South Wales and New Zealand Conferences in requesting the President of the General Conference to sus--pend all aotion re exchanges. After a lengthy discussion of the position of the ministers proposed for exchange, it was agreed to deal with- the case of' the Rev Leonard's alone, in order that negotiations might be entered into with' the South Australian Conference with a view to substitute another change for her. ' The Rev. Murray volunteered to exchange with South Australia. The second draft of stations, was read and the discussion postponed till Monday,'
