HER GRAVE.

Away from the noise of the city. Away from its busy streets, Down in the old village churchyard, Where many a loved one sleeps. There's a grave that was freshly opened For a maiden young and fair, Taken from this world early, Away from sorrow and care. And as I look up at theheavens. And think of the soul that's on high How I long and wish^t were with her, In that home above the sky. And then when I turn and look at the grave Where the withered wreaths have been, I wonder who over my grave may stand Wheu the grass on it grows green. Auckland, December 31st, 1888.
