A SHAKSPERIAN FESTIVAL. Christchurch, January 17.
Some, interest has been caused in Christchurch by an incident which has happoned in connection with the Shaksperian festi val. This is a big bazaar which is to be held at the end of the month on behalf of the funds of the convent. The attendants at each stall are to be dressed in Shaksperian costume. One of the plays whose personages were to be represented was that of Henry VIII. Bishop Grimes was to open the festival. A long advertisement in the papers united the public to come and meet Henry and Ann Boleyn and Queen Elizabeth. On reflection ib seems that Dr. Grimes had a conscientious t objection to meeting the hero and heroines 'of the Reformation, and he ordered a revision of the programme. The result is that an advertisement of a different character now appears in to-day's paper, no reference being; made to the blufl king, his wife, or llieiv Imperial daughter Eliza.
