On Saturday, December 29fch, at Ballarat, Bartholomew, the aeronaut, had a perilous doscont in his parachute, his sensational performance taking place immediately after the baseball match on the Eastern Oval. Tie foil upon the roof ot a shed at the roar of the Buck's Head Betel, about 500 yards from tho Oval,- and struck his legs against the edge of fche roof witli considerable violence. The iron cut into both logs, making very sovovo wounds, the left log bolow the knee being badly lacerated, and the bono injured, while tho right; • ldg' was severely torn above tho kneo.
