During their residence at Waijoa for a number oL' years past thoy have proved themselves excellent neighbours, and made many warm friends, by whom they will be greatly missed. Desiring to give expres sion to their feeling's in some united manner, a number r>i! their friends assembled at Mr Gubbins residence on Monday last, when a presentation was made to Mis Gould of a very handsome salad bowl and biscuit box, on behalf, ol Messrs Gubbins, Cltepmell, N, I. Hunt, Burnett, Horrell, Willis, Browning, ole, etc. On New Year's Duy Messrs Bradley and Co. conveyed a very largo number ot" persona from Thames to the picnic at Hikutaia and back. The new conch Maroloto, driven by Mr Bind Icy, had over forty passengers aboard, There will be a sitting of the R.M. Court at Paeroa on Monday. Ohinetnuri County Council invite tendern for forming and fascining about twenty chains of road in Waitoa Hiding. Tendois close at 2 p,m., Saffifsday 12th inst. at Paeroa. Specifications may be seen at Mr F. Strange's on and alter Monday next, and the work to be done will bo pointed out on the ground on Tuesday next, commencing near Mr StmngeVut one o'clock. The next meeting of tho School fete Committee will be helcbn Monday 17th inst at 7 p.m. Those having accounts against the Committee aie requested to tender them prior to tho meeting.
