Time, with wonted course, to slumber Now has brought another yesi, Added one more to the number In the vast eternal sphere. And n glad New Year is brought us, Born on Time'B resistless stmim. Haa the past year wisdom tuught UB, Or is our life an empty dream ? Well, t^e P«st has taught us plainly How all things must disuppeai. And how we are building vainly— Buildiqg castles jq the air. Closed is many an eye for o\*er Which beheld that New Yeai'saim, Endrd many a life which never Thought its las^; year had begun. l^iany shall, ore this year's clasiD^, Tho' they sit on honour's throne, in the cold grave reposing Lifeless, sileut and alone. v |jjfe of man is like a flower Bloqming in the e«|rly morn, Put ere eye, 'neath sun or shower, Faden, is withered, Dru.it.ed and gone.
