HOME RULE FOR INDIA. Calcutta, December 28.
At the sitting of the National Indian Congress to-day, resolutions were carried to the effect that the expansion of reform in the manner of appointing Governors and General and Provincial Councils was necessary. All the gentlemen speaking on the subject professed fervout loyalty to Great Britain.
Calcutta, December 29. The National Indiau Congress has now concluded its sittings. During the latter part of the Conference, questions of social, political, and military reforms were discussed, and the promotion of indigenous industries was recommended to inquiry by a Parliamentary Committee. A telegram expressing sympathy with Mr John Bright in his severe illness was authorised to be sent, and the Congress wound up with hearty cheers for Her Majesty Queen Victoria.
