fTo the Editor.] Sir — In your issue of Saturday last appears an advertisement under the heading, " New Year Festival/ stating that a grand social ball will be held in Te Aroha Public , Hall on New Yeav's night, etc. ; proceeds in aid of Public School Fund. To prevent misunderstanding I should like to state that no such entertainment has been arranged by the School Committee, nor have they had anything of the kind brought before them for consideration. — 1 am, etc.,
