THE MISSING PROFESSOR. Dunedin, Dec. 19,

Mitchells party hare returned from the search for Professor Brown, having found n6 trace of him. They did not go across the saddle. The "Daily Times" search party, under Mr Mackenzie, managed to patch up the boat, and were well up the lake when they met Mitchells party returning. The " Times " party decided to go on and continue the search after exchanging boats. Mr Mitchell states that the saddle is under snow, and he considers it impossible that Brown could have got over ifc to Deep Cove. Mr White left by the Stella thi« afternoon for Smith Sound. He is accompanied by Mr Begg, of Andersons Bay, and Dr. Roberts. The steamer will call in at the Bluff to-day, when the party will be informed of the non-success of Mitchells party.
