For the benefit of many exhibitors at 'a distance^'we may "just saj- that Waipawa is 40 miles ' from Napier on the .direct railway route, to Wellington via Woodyille. and Townships and settlements are .situated all along the line. "The' country arbund is ' prospering, and the land is rich and fertile. We have large stores, two banks, four churches, five public halls, and throe commodious jiptels. Six trains pass through our town daily, 1 the country settlers are engaged in farming and dairying pursuits, and have alLthe characteristics of people ' following the, tilling of the land. They are a sturdy, plodding, reliablp r pooplej and we could earnestly wish that a greater proportion of New Zealand people were engaged' upon the land ''as auvHawke's Bay folk are. ,Oqr present, liberal, -land laws will undoubtedly be. a grea& means to that desirable end. Neal and Son, baking powder, sauce, and chutney ; Hudson, writing ink and biking po vder ; Waite's fire lighteis ; ChaUieldV butter coolers ; H. 11. Smith's kitchen mnges ; Me Arthur and Co., boots and saddles ; Roberta's kerosono tilt and vases ; Pelham and Hoberts'sincubatora ; Burrows's patent isafety ladder : Ohas. Smith, perambulators ; Webb, of Ponsonby, N. Z. wines ; Wilson and Co., hydraulic lime : Macky, Logan, Stoen, and Co., boots ; Gregory, Ponsonby, enlarged photos ; Aldis, three large oil paintings of N.Z. scenery; Blomfield several .large paintings of New Zealand scenery : Drummond, oil paintings of N.Z. scenory ; Boynton, writing desks and dressing cases. •T. C. Firth hasa splendid show of his roller mills flour, and the celebrated 'Gerraina' for porridere and puddings. H. Shaiv shows a magnificent old Bible from the Royal Library, called the ' Vinegar Bible, 1 prepared expressly for King George I. Tho. Auckland exhibits form an important and conspicuous item, and Mr Adam- has shown great energy and enthusiasm in the display of thorn.
