MAIDSTONE ELECTION. London, December 15.
Mr Cornwallis, Conservative, has been returned for the constituency of Maidstonc, a scat which was rendered vacant by the death of Major Ross. The successful candidate defeated his opponent, a Home Ruler, by 185 votes. At the previous election the deceased member was returned by a majority of 314.
