On -Monday morning 1 Mr Richardson was shown through the Waihi Gr. M. Co's plant by Mr Small, the American export, and appeared * jvell pleased hy what ho sa.v. The m:\tter of the Waihi bridge was brought up and mo?t satisfactorily dealt with. A site was chosen by Hie Minister himself, who is a practical engineer, and a spocinl tyrant was promised of L 250. Tho Minister, agreed to send a progress payment of L2OO immediately the plans and specifications are approved, and tho balance on the certificate of t!ie engineer that the work is satisfactorily completed. A stirt was then made for Owharoa, where the party were met by a deputation of levees of agricultural sections on the goldfields. The question raised was the rightof the lessees to obtain the freeholds, they now having paid in rent three or four times the value of the land. Mr E. M. Coibett acted ag spokesman, and the Minister promised to do his utmost in the matter. Among other business done was the matter of the Komata long swamp, for which tho Minister promised a grant of L2OO. The Mackaytown-Butler's road deviation was next brought up, and the Minister promised to divert the grant of LlOOO originally intended for theMarototo road toward this work. A grade will be nifide from the Slip Creek gradually upwards until it joins the upper or Butler's (road. A sum of LlOO is also to bo expended on the To Aroha road. Altogether the County is to be congratulated on tho manner in which it has been treated by the Minister. It is reported that Mr J. M. Chambers hns sold the whole of his Karangahake property to Mr Howell, of WaiorongonWi ; including slag and oro purchased for tieament by the Farkes furnace. The entire lot of about 200 tons it is expected will. be shipped per Kotuku shortly. . " . . The whole of Mr Kersey Cooper's plant has arrived at Paeroa, and will be carted out to Waitekauri immediately. Mr E. M. Corbett, who has severed his connection with the Waihi Company, takes charge of tho work, which will be commenced as soon as tho material is on "the ground. . - .
