AitftANGKMBNTK were made for a conference to-day between the Chamber of Commerce and the farmers, relative to representation ab tho Paris Exhibition. The only persons presented were jVfr A. Porter, Mr Graham. Mr Wren, the Secretary, and fciyo yepoi bers, The Secretary explained that ho had advertised the meeting in country papersonly, and this fact wasevidenbly considered to bo quite sufficient to account for the small attendance There were on the table two letters, one offering hematite ore from Okauhau Bay of Islands and the other 250 silkworm cocoons from Kangiriri. After waiting for about half an-hour,theabtendancedid notinqrease, and the meetjngconsequently lapsed. The Secretary, however, explained that it was proposed to send' thp following exhibits ; — Ohesse, wool, timber, pliormiuin dressed and leaves, lanakeha bark, tanning, kauri gum, kaolin clay, pottery clay, olives nnd oil, wines, apples, sulphur, antiniony, manganese, zinc ore, iron sand, popper, specimen of ,'irou from sand, frozen' and preserved meat, tish preserved, limestone, oats, sheaves of >heafc } g*;a£s §eed, and furniture,
