THE MURDERED COUPLE. RELATIVES IN AUCKLAND.
Mr and Mvs Pook, who have been thus foully murdered, belong to Raglan district, where Mr Pook's parent?, we believe, still reside. Airs Pook was a, daughter of the late Captain Swan ,of Raglan, a niece of Captain Fairchild, thecomuianrier of the Government steamer. The wifeof Mr W. Duncan J. P. Auckland is a sister of the murdered woman and naturally was deeply aftected when he received a brief telegram stating the terribleiacts. The Pooks had only been four year in ,the Poverty Bay distict. The murdered lady was about 27 years of ape while, her ;husband was four or five .years her fcenior. They are pretty widely known throughout Anckland district, and the news of their untimely, end will awaken feelings of general sorrow and regret. °
