ALLEGED ILLEGAL POUNDING.

[To the Editor.] Shy—In the case of impounding 1 Mr J. Jackson's cattle with others last Monday evening by the young Devey's, under authority from Mr Thos. Taylor, there is every proof of their being illegally impounded, for I for'one saw the Devey's collect them from off Section No. 108, and from Mr Johnson's land adjoining", a quarter of a.niile away from Mr Taylor's grass, and on the other side of the road from his property, and there are two or three other parties who can sw ar that no cattle except two of Mr Thaxter's had been on Mr Tnylor's grass that day. Now, both MrMcCabe and I have made arrangements with Mr Taylor about grazing his grass, but in the face of such illegal proceedings as the above, we dare not let ouv cattle out to be at the risk of any sneaks in the district taking advantage of the public trespass notice and running 1 the cattle into the pound, for that notice gives any one power to pound all cattle found grazing on Mr Taylor's grass, no matter whether it is rented or not.
