AQUATIC CARNIVAL.
Brisbvn*., Dec. 6. Tul aquatic carnival began* here yesteiday. The first heal resulted as follows : — Mali arson, i ; Stansbury, 2 ; McLeer, 3; Wain, 4. The second heat was then rowed with the following result : — Searle, 1 ; Kemp, 2 ; Neilson. 3 ; Beach, 4. All the competitors belong to Sydney except McLeer and Wain, who are .Brisbane men. To-day the first two in each heat row ihe final heat. The second heat in the sculling contest was rowed to-day, and the race was a magnificent one between Sea'le and Kemp. Searle eventually won by a length and a half.
