London, December 3. Mr VV. C. Roberta- Austin, F.R.S., chemist and assayer at the Royal Mint, who* recently accompanied Sir F. Dillon Bell and Sir Saul Samuel to Friefourg, Saxony, for the purpose of inspecting the treatment of refractory ores as practised at the smelting works Jn that city, has forwarded, his report bo the Agents-GeneiceL Mr* Roberts- Austin is of opinion thai the , methods adopted at Frieburg would not be - suitable for the treatment of such ores in .
