London, December 1. In the House of Commons, Sir James Pergus^ou, Political Secietan at the Foreign Otrico, stated that the troops at Smkim were acting simply the defensive. In the House of Commons to-day, Lord .Randolph Churchill protested against the despatch of British troops to Snakim, and also to Great Britain meddling in Soudan affairs. Mr J.
