Thames, Nov. 29. Trenton.— The shaft is down 486 feet. The country is still hard. New Albukxia. — Crushing commences on Monday. There are 16 loads of quartz and 601b picked stone to put through. Saxon.— The drive at No. sor new level is passing through a splendid class of country. The reef is fully 18 inches in thickness and carries fair minei'als, with colours of gold. 21b of picked stone have been saved. The country at No. 3 level is very t ight, but is still kindly looking for gold. No. 1 footwall leader averages from d to 10 inches and a little gold is seen occasionally. About 501b picked stone have been obtained from the stopes during the past week. Clearing up and retorting the amalgam for the past forcnighb took place on the 26th, The 9600z amalgam yielded 3120z retorted gold, which was afterwards melted into a bar of 310oz. For this yield 30S loads general quartz has been treated. The picked stone on hand is 801b. Cambria. — The manager has booked 56ozs 13dwt3 of melted gold to-day, from the treatment of 31 loads of quartz broken out during the past fortnight. New Manukau. — The dirfc coming to hand is crushing much better. A few pounds picked stone were saved last week. Waiotahi. — The dirt coming to hand from all parts of the mine crushed much better last week. More picked stone than usual has been obtained.
