There is nothing fresh to report with respect to the works progressing- at Waiorongomai in connection with the Te Aroha S. and Gr. M. Co.; everything continues to "be pushed on rapidly. The chimney stack (80 feet) for the smelter will soon be completed. The winze being sunk on the New Find reef is almost connected with the low level, and the connection will probably be effected within the next few days. The Canadian Gully low level is progressing. Tregoweth and party (contractors) are making very fair progress with the work. A large quantity of Kauri timber is being brought down by the, tramway, and the circular saw is kept constantly going at the site of the new works. * The men employed on the Werahiko mine are driving ou a good looking reef.
