BOARD OF EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIPS.
AUCKLAND, Last Night, There is great competition this year for the Board of Education scholarships. Foreightjuniorscholarships 113 entries have been received from Auckland District, 15 from Thames, and 14 from Waikato, making 142 in all. For the four senior scholarships offered Auckland sends up 17 and Thames 6 candidates. Mr Ambury has again been nominated as Mayor for Newton. The Board of Education to-day accepted the following tenders for roofing teachers dwelling at Hamilton West :—: — E. Wadingham, £45 15s ; roofing teachers dwelling at Te Awamutu, J; L. Mandeno, £31.
