OHINEMURI. (From Our Own Correspondent.)

Paeroa, Friday. The Crown mine, Karangahake, has afc length made a start again under the able supervision of Mr G. N. McGrruer. Tho levels have been cleaned out thoroughly, and are being re-timbered. A start has been made to sink a winze on No. 2 reef in No. 1 level. It is most likely that Mr Melville will have the Cassel process plant fixed by the end of December. The Railey plant house will probably be utilised for the purpose. Mr and Mrs Parkes left Paeroa this morning for Tauranga, en route to the Hot Lakes. Mr Parkes has been very unwell lately. The coal on hand for the furnace is to be sold by auction. The Grey coalis shortly expected. The ketch Elsie has arrived and discharged her cargo of 25,000 bricks for Mr J. W. Walker. Mr Fenton, of Te Puke, has received notice of the acceptance of his tender for the Paeroa-Tauranga mail. The subsidy is £345. Considerable regret is expressed on all hands that Mr Geo. Crosby has not been successful in keeping this line. Mr Crosby always kept excellent time in the worst oF weather, and has made himself very popular in the district. It is hoped that we shall not lose sight of Harry Stonehill, who has had charge at this end since Mr Crosby has had the line. It is gratifying to see that Messrs Bradley and Ferguson still hold their own on the line so long identified with their name. Mr Nat. Dickey's racing entire horse, Libeller, died this morning at Paeroa.
