ALARMING RAILWAY ACCIDENT. Sydney, October 27.
A uoods train, while watei ing no the Fis" Kiver tanks this morning, was dashed into by a second goods train. Attached to the rirst train was a passenger carriage containing several passengers and railway O'nplovces. This carriage was completely smashed, and many of l>he occupants received injury. Howard, a caipenter, had his ribs broken and his lungs attectcd, and a man named Wishey sustained tenons injury to his head, both men being in a dangeroub condition. Mr and Mrs IS peers, Messrs Stevens, Coombes, Kiley, and Oeoiee, received a seveie shaking, though not any serious injury. It is explained that the accident occurred owing to the fitst train being short of water, and having to scop to refill the boilers. The weather at the time was foggy, and the leading train was not obsenecl by the diiver of the second train until too late to prevent the accident.
