THE RAILWAY MANAGEMENT

It is rumoured that should it not prove practicable to obtain a chief Railway Co -ii mission from Great Britain, the Board will be constituted as follows : — MiEdward Richardson, M.H.Ii , Chief Commissioner, with a salary of £1,21)0 or L/ 1,500 ; Mr Maxwell, the present General Manager, and Air C. W. O'Connor (Secretary of Public Works) Assistant Commissioners. The salaries would bo L 1,000 each. It is further rumoured that Mr Maxwell is willing to serve under an English Chief Commis sioner of repute, but not under anyone appointed in the Colony.
