THE NATIVE FOOTBALLERS. THEIR PROGRAMME.
I send you the p-ograuime of matches that Mr Rowland Hill, the Secretary of tho English Rugby Union, and Mr Sleigh have arranged for the Maori footballers. They may play three or four matches before the first on the programme, but the roal busines B will start) with the match against the Midland on October 13bh, The teams to be mefc are very strong, and will thoroughly te,st the natives. ]t will be seen that three internal lonal matches are included in the programme, viz., matches with England, Wales and Ireland, and very probably one may bo arranged with Scotland. All the principal Rugby counties ore to be met as well as the chief clubs, such as Salford and Swinton, who supplied tho bulk of the players in the English team that visited the colonies. Altogether, if the Maoiis have a good record when they finish their tour they will have very o;ood reason to be pleased with themselves. The following are tho fixture »: —October 13th, v.
