LATER FIJI NEWS.
The Fiji correspondent) of the " Sydney Herald," writing under date of September 11th, says :—•" The last month has been barren of incidents affording 1 matter for correspondence. His Excellency the Governor has made sundry excursions into the country districts, visiting Bau, the ancient native capital, and subsequently going through the Rewa province, In the latter district he has found it necessary to depose from office Ratu Beni, the Roko of jSTaitaseri. This voung chief, a grandson of the late King Cakobau, was, it may be remembered, severely reprimanded at the late Bose Vaka Turaga held in May last, but, continuing in acts of insubordination, has now been deprived of office, and ordered to reside for a year on the small island of Matuku, in the Eastern Group, whence he wa& deported by the Government steamer Clyde a few days since."
