FORGERY IN SYDNEY Sydney, October 3.
For some, time -past, the,- police have been aware that an extensive system of defrauding the banks by means of forged cheques has been in active operation in this city, but the perperators of the frauds eluded the vigilance of the detectives. To-day, however, two brothers named Grieve were arrested on the charge. , The amount involved in their operations is unknown at present, but it is stated that all the city banks have been victimised.
