The Spring Meeting of the Onehunga Racing Club on Saturday passed off Successfully. Flying Stakes of 30sovs. OFive furlongs. Mr H. After a lob of delay the flag dropped to a good start. The Squire was quickest on his legs, and making every post a win- 1 ning one, gained the verdict by a couple of lengths, On Guard and Cabrsby running a dea^ heat for second honours. Time, lmin 20sec. Capella was first away, but before many yarjds had been traversed, the Squire was in iront, and was never atterwards headed, winning easily by a couple of lengths. Dividend, £1 14s. Matau led from start, to finish by half-a-dozen lengths, while the remainderof the field was spread-eaglod oub some lengths behind the leader. Laing, on Wideawake, was hooted by iho crowd on roturning to scale. Dividend, £2 10s. Matau was bought in for the owner for £26. Handicap Ladies' Bracelet, of 25sovs. First horse to receive a bracelet, valued lOsovs, and lOsovs cash ; second horse to receive a trophy, valued ssovs. Horses to be nominated by ladies. , Gentlemen riders, welter weights.
