Cokomandel, Sept. 29. Tokatea G. M. Co.— During the past week Duncan and party on Nos. 1 and '2 tributes obtained 101b of good picked stone. The leader at this point has taken a much greater underlay, which will cause it to junction withtheNo. 3reef atadepth of about 10 feet, unless it again changes; the leadec is about four inches thick. Dick and Cowan, No. 5, have driven through the big lode in their low level, which is seven feet in thickness and well defined. The stone looks better than from any part of the reef I have yet seen ; it has a great underlay to the west, fully one in one. The stone carries the best of mineral indications, and if properly developed would no doubt yield good gold. The country is a splendid class, and good progress making with the drive. — Jno. Benney. Royal Oak Mine. — Since last report there is a decided improvement in the mines. In rising on the reef the appearance is improving, and the ground more favourable-looking. In breaking down on Tuesday there was about ten pounds picked stone obtained, and more showing in the west end ot rise going up on a separate crosshead, and it has the appearance of a fresh run of gold coming in between the crossheade. The tributers aro working and progressing on different reefs without getting any gold, but favourable indications are met with in places. They have about 601b picked stone on hand. — Peter Reid.
