Tjuk Government have definitely abandoned any attempt to get a Railway Commissicnc 1 at £2,500, and have instructed the Agp.ntGeneral to ascertain whether a suitable man can bo obtained for * 3,000. They have, however, yet to < eoide whether they would enjjajfo such a man at once without waiting foi tho authority of Parlia,ment.
