TnAMbs, September 19 Camtjkia. — The fortnightly cleaning up today produced 70oz. 15dwt. retorted gold from 63 loads of quartz, and 101b of picked stone. New Ai.hurma. —• "During the 1 week the Company's operations have been confined to carrying on the stopos above the battery level. There are now about 8 loadsgeneral quartz and 401b picked stoneon hand, having been obtained during the week. Three parlies have finished crushing: — Foster and party, 3 loads for lozl2dwt; Hennespy and party, 3 loadb dirt and 101b picked stone for 3Aoz ; and Jobe and party, 16 loads dirt and 601b stone for 680/, 14dwb. Caledonian. — Stoping operations are being continued on Rowes leader, which, although small, looks well and show* good colours of gold. The drive on the leader at No. 2 level is in a distance of 12 feet, bufc'the prospects, met with so far are not very encouraging, and t if an improvement doB3 not sefein soon, this work will be discontinued. Royal Exchange (Tapu).— Goonan and party have banked 14oz lOdwt gold from 4£ tons quartz. Cambria. — The two leaders in the rise from No. 4 level, whichj is up 14ft, carry some nice looking minerals. The No. 6 leader is from 4 to 6 inches wide in the winze, which is down 16 feet, and colours of gold are frequently seen in the quartz. The return telegraphed yesterday was reduced, on melting, to 790z lOdwt.
