Achiccs from England, received at Ottawa, August 14, state that the British fleet on Uie Noi th American fetation will shortly be .ureatly strengthened by the addition of several war vessel 0 of more modern type than these in the North Atlantic at jiie*ent. The flagship Bellerophon (ViceAdmiral Algernon McLennan Lyons), Captain Bowvine F. Clark, will be recalled, and the Aurora, a new steel-armoured cruiser, built at Pembroke last year, will take ncr place. This cruiser carries fr\yelve guns, measuieb 5,000 ton,% and has engines of 8.500 horso-powei. Her speed is eighteen knots an hour. Two of her guns aie 20 tons, breech-loading and lified, mounted loie and aft, and ten are six tons, carried broadside.
