A deputation representing the Chamber of Commerce, accompanied by Mr S. Vaiie, waited upon the Hon. Mr Mitchelson to ask him what guarantee Government would require to work the Auckland Railways on his system. Mr Vaile also urged the appointment of an impartial commission to investigate the matter. Mr Mitchelson promised to lay the question before the (Jabiuet on his return to Wellington.
