A suggestion to Old Maids. — Little Allie has jusfc had a birthday. Being asked how old she was, she replied, ' I'se just next to what I was. '
' And Johnny, what particular pleasure do you deny yourself during Lent?' Johnnie : ' I've stopped putting pennies in the box for the heathen. '
Little Brother (whose sister is playing cards with a gentleman) : • MrSmiler, does Minnie' play cards well ?'^Mr Smiler : ' Yes, very well indeed.' Little Brother: 'Then you had better look out ; mamma said if she played' her cards well she would catch you.'
