SUDDEN DEATH AT THE THAMES. Thames, September 3.
Ox Saturday evening, John Johns, a highlyrespected miner, fell down dead in Mrs Capell's boai ding-house, .lohns had been conversing with Mrs Capell, and was about to shake hands with her when he iell backwards, and expired in a few minutes. He had been buffering from pleurisy and congestion of the lung.s, and had been attended by Drs. Payne and Williams at the Thames, and subsequently by Dr. Mackellar, of Auckland. Heart disease is assigned as the cause of death, and no inquest will be held. Deceased was 59 years of age, and is known to many in Auckland. He was one of the Thames representatives in the draughts contest which took place with Auckland some time ago.
